It is our experience that most technical questions deal with programming of the IPS308 and the IPS416 hybrid-telephone systems. While the 308 and 416 can be programmed by keypunching numerical commands with any standard telephone, WE CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THE BENEFITS OF PROGRAMMING YOUR SYSTEM WITH YOUR PC, AND THE PBX CONFIGURATION SOFTWARE THAT IS PROVIDED WITH EACH 308 OR 416 UNIT. Programming is then downloaded to your telephone system with the 9 pin, male to female serial cable provided. The configuration software is great because it:
allows you to visualize your programming with the software's step by step instruction
allows you the benefit of the CUE CARDS and HELP INDEX provided in the software
allows you to save a copy of your program should programming ever be lost
allows you to use the FREE DOWNLOADABLE PROGRAMMING EXAMPLES below
allows you to email your programming configuration file (*.cfg) to LeePhones, Inc. for analysis
allows you to make changes to your programming without having to remember your original programming choices

PLEASE NOTE:
The Auto Attendant feature is included with both the 308 and 416 and may be enabled or disabled. If enabled, the length of the announcement is limited to 20 seconds.
If the EVM Voice Mail unit is utilized with either the 308 or 416, the auto attendant of the 308/416 is disabled in lieu of the auto attendant feature of the EVM Voice Mail. The outgoing message of the EVM may be up to 60 seconds in length.
The Auto Attendant message in example 2 is provided by the EVM Voice Mail unit. The outgoing message is "Thank you for calling. If you know your party's extension, you may dial it at any time. For sales, press 2, for tech help press 3, for accounting, press 4, for shipping press 5." The "dial action table" (the instructions for the system that tell it what to do if a specific number is dialed) is set up as part of the EVM programming. See EVM System Guide.
The Auto Attendant message in example 3 is provided by the IPS416. The outgoing message is "Thank you for calling Apple Records. For John, please press 2, for Paul press 3, for George press 4, for Ringo press 5, or if you are sending a fax, you may start it now."
The Auto Attendant message in example 4 is provided by the EVM Voice Mail Unit which allows a different message for day and night. In this example, Joan the Operator manually switches the system to "night mode" when she leaves, and returns it to "day mode" when she arrives in the office. The day mode is "Thank you for calling. I'm sorry, but we are unable to answer your call at this time. Please press 0 to leave a message. We will return your call within 10 minutes:" The night mode outgoing message is "Thank you for calling. I'm sorry, but our office is closed. You may leave a voice mail message for any of the following. For the general mailbox, also the mailbox of Joan press 0, for Andy press 1, for Lauren press 2, for Judy press 3, for Shane press 4, for Bobby press 5, for Melissa press 6, for Jim press 7, for our office hours, mailing address, and web site, press 8."
