ips key telephone features :

AUTOMATED ATTENDANT/VOICE ANNOUNCEMENT

allows you to record a greeting (20 second maximum) that the incoming caller will hear after one ring.  The caller may then select one of the options offered in the recording which will ring the extension of the desired party.  A typical business recording might be "Thank you for calling LeePhones.com.  For sales, please press 2, for technical support, press 3, for accounting, press 4, for shipping, press 5, for the operator press 0."  Each numerical choice may include up to four different extensions.  The system will transfer the incoming caller to the first extension in the list that is not busy, or to the rollover extension (answering machine or voice mail) if the desired extension does not answer.  The Auto Attendant is a programming option that may be used on any, some, or none of the incoming lines, and may be used during day mode, night mode, always, or never.

AUTOMATIC FAX RECOGNITION

when utilizing the AUTOMATED ATTENDANT, the system will recognize an incoming fax, and will automatically route to the fax machines' extension.  This feature saves you money by freeing up "dedicated" fax lines for voice or other uses.  There is no need to publish a fax number as any of your incoming lines can receive faxes.

AUTO ANSWER

allows extensions with a key phone to receive internal intercom calls directly through their speaker phone without having to pickup the handset.

INTERCOM

allows private communication between system users.  IPS Key Telephones can dial another internal extension by simply pressing the button or "key" associated with the other extension . Conversations may be hands free through the speaker phone, or through the handset.

DIRECT CALLER ACCESS TO EXTENSIONS

when utilizing the AUTOMATED ATTENDANT, the incoming caller may, upon hearing the recorded greeting, connect to any desired extension by dialing the three digit extension number (100 to 107 on the IPS308, 100 to 115 on the IPS416)

SYSTEM PROGRAMMING VIA PC OR PHONE

one of the most significant features of the IPS is the ability to program its features utilizing the IPS programming software.  The software's graphics, help menus, and cue cards make programming simple from start to finish.  Once complete, the personalized programming is downloaded to the IPS through the RS-232 serial port with a standard serial cable.  Programming is thereby saved for future changes, and can be emailed to LeePhones, Inc. for technical assistance.  Programming may also be done with any standard telephone by following instructions provided in the System Guide.

CALLER ID

(requires caller id option and an IPS Key Telephone) - displays incoming caller name and number on all Key Telephones with display.

MUSIC ON HOLD

a micro-mini input port on the IPS may be connected to any external music source (tape, CD, radio, or continuous play advertising message) to provide background sound for incoming callers while transferring to a desired extension or while remaining on hold.

ALARM CLOCK

allows an extension to preset a specified time for a reminder ring or wake-up call.

CALL FORWARD/CALL FOLLOW ME

allows any extension's calls to be forwarded to any other extension temporarily until calls are unforwarded.  For example, extension 103 is temporarily working in the conference room at extension 105 and wants to be able take any calls intended for user 103 at the temporary 105 extension.  Should the user find that he must forward incoming calls after he has left his extension he can access the call follow me feature to bring all calls to his new extension.

CALL TRANSFER

allows any extension to transfer any incoming caller to an alternate extension.  This feature would be used frequently by an operator answering all incoming calls, then sending that caller to the desired internal extension.

CALL HISTORY REPORTING

when connected to a printer or a PC, the IPS can provide details of outgoing calls to provide information for time and billing purposes.

CALL HOLDING

puts caller on hold (providing music on hold if desired) until the called party returns, or the caller is transferred back to the rollover extension (operator, answering machine, or voice mail) if left on hold beyond the programmed time limit.

CALL BARRING/TOLL RESTRICTION

limits outgoing call access by extension to only some, or no outside lines, or lets you bar specific extensions from calling certain types of phone numbers (or prefixes such as long distance, international and /or 1-900 number calls

CALL PARKING/CALL BREAK-IN

The IPS gives the user great flexibility in handling transferred call.  When a user attempts to transfer an incoming call to an extension in use, the user will hear a busy tone.  The user has three options: 1) Park the call: When the user on the busy extension has finished his call, his extension will ring to alert him to the caller on hold. 2) Alert the user to the call on hold by breaking in on the conversation already taking place on the extension. 3) Flash back to the caller.

CLOCK

internal clock displays time, date, and call duration on the IPS Key Telephone.

DOOR PHONE

allows use of an IPS Door Phone in secure type environments to enable delivery personnel, or visitors to access an internal operator or other extensions from an outside location.

DIRECT OUTWARD STATION ACCESS

allows an incoming caller to enter a password and be connected to a different outside line within the system and make an outgoing call. This feature would allow company personnel to call into the system and place outgoing toll calls that would be charged to the company.

CONFERENCE CALLING

allows two inside and one outside, or one inside and two outside callers to participate in the same conversation.

DAY/NIGHT SETTINGS

allows different programming options to be based on the time of day, and day of the week which may be set for automatic switching or manual switching.

DISTINCTIVE RING OPTIONS

allows extensions with an IPS Key Telephone to select from a variety of ring tones and volumes to easily identify their phone's unique ring.

DO NOT DISTURB

allows any user in the system to prevent calls from coming in to their phone.  These calls are diverted to the rollover extension (operator, answering machine, or voice mail)

OUTGOING CALL GROUPING

allows each extension to have full or limited access to outside lines for the purpose of placing outgoing calls.  This feature is useful in limiting call access only to certain lines such as a courtesy phone or public phone.

PAGING SYSTEM INTERFACE

allows paging system wide through either an external paging amplifier/speaker, or through the speaker of all IPS Key Telephones in the system.

POWER FAIL TRANSFER

In the event of power failure, the outside lines will switch over to a particular extension.

STANDARD PHONE COMPATIBILITY

(including cordless) all features are accessible by any standard phone with a combination of a switch-hook and a two digit feature code.  Although the IPS Key Telephone is equipped with an LCD display, and red and green LED's to indicate line and extension usage, standard phones offer an inexpensive alternative in applications where such features are not needed.  Standard phones must have an electronic type ringer rather than a mechanical bell due to the voltage capabilities of the IPS.

ANSWERING MACHINE AND FAX MACHINE COMPATIBILITY

allows use of single or multiple answering machines to create a simple voice mail system.  Answering machines may be assigned to a specific extension or may serve to handle office-wide calls.

VOICE MAIL COMPATIBILITY

allows integration with the EVM two port voice mail system which provides expanded capabilities for the auto attendant as well as individual voice mail boxes for each extension.  Voice mailboxes can be personalized by each individual user in the system.
